Admittedly, it sounds a little “cheesy”—a “dream fulfiller.” But at the end of the day, we all want to have nothing to regret later on. And as we all know, we tend to regret the things we didn’t do more than the things we did.
A few years ago, I came across Anna von nordbewusst, a courageous woman from Frankfurt. Initially drawn to her minimalism and her refined Scandinavian aesthetic, I stuck around—and followed her “journey” on Instagram, YouTube, and Spotify as she transformed from a cosmopolitan and thoughtful young woman from Frankfurt into a courageous expat. In my eyes, she’s a great example of the kind of person who will one day be able to say of herself, “I’ve truly lived.”
Speaking of Courage: In December 2024, I asked Anna if we wanted to meet up in Copenhagen sometime and get to know each other. That immediately turned into “I’ll give your coaching a try” and “What is this test, this ID37?”
In fact, it’s much easier these days to get closer to your dreams and plans for change, thanks to modern opportunities. From a scientific perspective, two factors are particularly relevant to realizing a dream such as moving abroad, starting a new business, or purchasing a picturesque property in the south of France:
We have to be able to envision it—and we have to find the necessary drive within ourselves; in short, we need “momentum.” And we have to find this “momentum” within ourselves. To put it in technical terms:We must find the intrinsic motivation within ourselves to take the steps toward change. Those who know their own intrinsic motivation and use it consciously have a clear advantage. That reminds me, by the way, of a saying: “Where there is awareness, there is free will.” And you can gain awareness of your own intrinsic motivation quite “easily,” for example, through the ID37 personality test. 144 questions online, followed by an in-depth and engaging evaluation session—and suddenly it becomes much clearer where to find the momentum to move toward the change you’ve been dreaming of.
I specialize in goal-setting and goal-achievement processes, and over the past 20 years I have helped many people with their change initiatives. Important: I don’t do any of that “crystal ball” nonsense. My approach focuses on the individual and works with the individual—it’s authentic and grounded in science.
I highly recommend Anna von Nordbewusst’s podcast, which you can find on Spotify. Especially now, during the dark winter months, it’s a real treat to listen to the Scandinavian art of living. In December and January 2024/2025, the podcast (episode from Dec. 22, 2024) will feature a special promotion: I’ll be giving away an ID37 (retail value €119) to 10 lucky listeners if they sign up for coaching—and on top of that, they’ll get a 20% discount.
