Merry Christmas! In Hamburg, celebrating Christmas means the city slows down, the streets are empty—and snow would be the icing on the cake. This gradual winding down by everyone is just wonderful. It was an eventful year—and we have an exciting year ahead of us. I’ve already made plans for the coming year: I’m going to be teaching again! In your mid-50s—that’s probably the right age. Joking aside, I really love teaching. Coaches, HR professionals, and anyone interested (aspiring coaches, those interested in psychology, etc.).
This year, I had the opportunity to work on several major projects—change processes, leadership development, and talent programs. That’s why I was very fortunate to have another chance to really put two valuable instruments to the test. The ID37 personality assessment is truly a game-changer. Even experienced executives have told me that the discussion about their performance profile was very engaging and insightful. But I also worked with a group of talented individuals (thanks to Kai, Martin, and Swantje!), and I got to experience what it’s like to introduce an entire group to personality assessments and their profiles during a workshop.
In particular, a personality profile is a wonderful tool for determining which leadership style is actually best suited to the individual (optimal = maintaining performance, ensuring satisfaction, experiencing flow) and where one’s own work and personal journey should be headed (target state, vision, direction for leadership). As the saying goes, “If you want to lead, you have to know where you want to go.”
But my leadership game is also becoming more and more popular—which makes me pretty happy! Created in close collaboration with a key client (thanks to Verena, Björn, and Katrin!), it’s now making the rounds (thanks to Marco and Reinhard!). But it’s not my goal at all—even as a game master—to take others on the Leadership Expedition. I want to encourage other trainers, coaches, HR professionals, and Scrum Masters to become game leaders themselves: “Leadership Expedition Master”.
I am currently finalizing the train-the-trainer training – I estimate it will be ready early in the first quarter of 2026. I also offer master’s-level training programs for the Leadership Expedition.
